Does anyone actually enjoy playing golf in winter?

Winter golf isn’t for everyone. Some people just prefer the shorts and t-shirt approach which accompanies sunshine and warmth. However, for others, there’s nothing better than feeling the cold bite of winter nibbling at their cheeks on an ice-encrusted green.

Whichever you prefer, it’s fair to assume we’re all aware of how difficult playing a round in winter can be.

And the cold temperatures aren’t the only downside to playing golf during the winter months. It’s the stuff that results from the cold weather, namely ice, which isn’t just a general safety hazard but an all-out enemy to most people.

It can also be devilishly tricky to navigate around the golf course, too. Just look at this guy, whose attempt at a simple up-and-down turned into an easy bogey:

This is probably why, despite all of us needing to get our golfing fix all year round, some players just can’t take the cold weather and the multitude of hazards which accompany it.
